Our Next Free Lecture Event is coming up:

Walking Trails in Chautauqua

Date:  Wednesday, July 31, 2024

Time: Mix and Mingle at 6:30  Lecture at 7:00 PM

Wendy Lewellen: Secretary, Chautauqua Rails to Trails and retired public-school teacher
Jacob Broadway, Trails Coordinator – Chautauqua County Partnership for Economic Development
Join us as Wendy shares stories from her book Good Soles. This book, which supports Chautauqua Rails to Trails, profiles the individuals the trail segments are named after and spotlights the 1990s trailblazers who converted 29 miles of abandoned railbeds to recreational trails. Wendy will discuss the history of the effort to create safe, quiet trail access to this gorgeous and varied Chautauqua County terrain and what is presently underway with the organization.
Jacob will continue the conversation by highlighting the vast array of trails available in the county, a new app that will help you find them, the monetary support that has funded many recent improvements and his top picks for your next two footed adventure.
